College Composition Week Four
This week in writing the things that we are studying is the proper way to cite the work. In writing we always need to give the author the credit for using their words or there articles. Unless we properly cite the work this is called plagiarism and can cost us in our careers if this is not contained in the work. Whenever in doubt about citing something the things to remember is if we are using other articles, books, journals, etc. If unsure about citing we can always ask questions to see if it needs to be cited or can look at it just cite whenever in doubt and it will save you from putting your career in jeopardy. The things that help me remember is just cite the work whenever in doubt. The other things about writing is learning the different steps and processes that we use to write a paper. The first thing that I do is pick a topic that can be easily researched and have enough inofrmation to support the paper. The second thing is brainstorming the ideas. Then take the ideas from the brainstorming to create the paper. Then read it aloud to make sure the paper makes sense. Then we can proofread it to find and correct mistakes throughout our paper. Then when it comes to the final draft make sure to do spelling and grammar check and always reread the final draft to make sure all the corrections are made to the paper. Sometimes there are words in there that makes the paper to wordy and does not make sense. As a writer we want to make sure our reader understands what we are trying to present to them. By working together as a class if there is anything that I may be of assistance to you feel free to let me know. Working together as a class will make all of us to become better writers. Feel free to leave feedback.

Hi Christopher,
ReplyDeleteIt is great of your to offer to work together. Having a writing group can help encourage you and help you when you get stuck. It is a great idea. Feel free to propose it in class.
